I am off to Hampton Court on Wednesday and the first thing I am going to do is visit the Gold medal winning Green Seam garden, designed by Bethany Williams and Stuart Charles Towner, fellow graduates from Greenwich ….not only did they both achieve first class honours this year but they happened to design the best in show garden…as you do!
I love this photo, you both look soooo happy!
The garden, built by RDC Landscape Design & Construction ( great job guys),tells the story of the transformation of a former Betteshanger colliery in East Kent into a sustainable country park. There is a disused lift cage, a coal wall, a shale pool and plants that grow in inhospitable and damaged landscapes, slowly transforming them back into green spaces. Ian was there for press day so here is a taster of what is to come!
The second thing I am going to do is whizz over to the FELCO stand and purchase my very first pair of decent secateurs, my reward for our gold medal efforts earlier this month…I thought I might stretch to Welligogs but as it is going to be ‘the hottest day of the year so far’ (love saying that) perhaps flip flops would be better…
