From the power of paints to the power of plants. My love of gardening has brought my artistic past back to life. And I’ve used that past to influence my painterly approach to garden design, often drawing on my knowledge of colour and applying it to bring the best out of gardens.
Back in the day, I went to art college and specialised in photography. After college I worked as a photographer’s assistant for four years, before I ran my own photographic studio in London until I had my children. I made close links with the design world that I still have today.
The move to garden design came from my love of gardens and plants re-energising my creativity. So I got my degree in Garden Design from Greenwich University, became a finalist for the Society of Garden Designers 2014 Student Award, and entered the Metamorphosis Gardens competition at BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2015 with a garden that was awarded the RHS Gold Medal.
