Blogging with the eyepad, I mean ipad…this technology may get the better of me yet! Day 1 done…..and I haven’t turned to stone and the sky did not fall on my head……obviously I arrived waaaay tooooo early and there were only two other people on site , Tim who is in charge and the Nedster who operates all the machinery!
In my head the site was small but this morning it looked huge and daunting! I must have looked terrible because RHS Liz dragged me off for a coffee.I was mightily relieved when Big Fish (Andrew, Jan and Tom) turned up and set about re digging the site and working out the plan of action.
They cracked on, I scoured the countryside for sustenance to keep them going. They consulted me on everything and I always countered with ‘what do you think?’ Two rules of garden design, listen to your landscaper and listen to your nurseryman. And when in doubt I phoned Bridget. She is driving up tomorrow with the wood, benches and some of the plants in a Luton van! The rule for Luton vans is never, ever reverse….going forwards is the only option!
The site has been levelled, the rill started and the pond dug out, so far so good….
And now for ‘Game of Thrones’…..
