Creating the sculpture has been a joyous diversion from the tedium of paperwork associated with preparing a show garden. I was up very late a few nights ago preparing a rough draft of the risk assessment for the site, oh the glamour!
Our sculpture is another collaborative effort my Bridget and myself. The parts that make up the sculpture puzzle are taken from the required and ‘wild card’ materials listed in the brief. The base is made from pieces of gabion wired together. On top of the base we are screwing or sticking bits of painted wood and strips or squares of steel sheeting. We intend to hook it on to the charred fencing which will prove a dramatic foil for the bright colours…..maybe someone will buy it at the show….?
