We finally got going on the shou sugi ban, flaming the wood fencing to produce a rich black sheen.  As the  flames lick the wood the resin heats up and forms a protective barrier, probably quicker and cheaper than paint…..and the effect is stunning.

We have also started on a series of blogs that BBC GWL are going to circulate as part of the build up to the show. Our camera was Heath Robinson affair with lots of gaffe tape and a shoe box to try and curtail the sound of the wind.

It is all pretty exhausting, so much to do……..
